While researching Nefertiti and her role amongst Ancient Egyptian society, Dirar discovered a magnitude of symbols, stories and myths that resemble the richness of her character and its relevance to our modern world. The invention of Nefertiti’s fashion came from the desire to reimagine her as a woman of today as well as, uncovering the elegance of Ancient Egyptian artwork in terms of fashion and culture.  The references to current pop culture allowed Dirar to present the queen in a new and modern style that mirrors her identity. Focusing on the details of Nefertiti’s crown and attire puts in perspective the uniqueness of her character as seen by Dirar.
